Duct air coolers, 18,000 to 50,000 CMH

Ducting coolers made at our Murbad factories: five sizes in UV-stabilised plastic plus a stainless steel model, single or three phase, single speed or VFD.

What is a duct air cooler

One cooler, cool air delivered across the whole floor

A duct air cooler, often called a ducting cooler, is an industrial evaporative cooler mounted outside the building on a wall bracket or the roof. It pushes cooled, fresh air through ducts and grills to the places where people work, so one unit can serve a large floor evenly.

Keeping the cooler outside keeps its water, pads and noise out of the workspace. Ducting lets you direct the air to work stations, aisles or seating instead of cooling empty roof space, which is why ducted cooling suits factories, warehouses, halls and institutions.

All five are moulded in UV-stabilised PPCP engineering plastic, use four-sided cellulose pads 100 mm thick, and are available with single speed or VFD variable speed control. For corrosive or coastal sites, the SS-304 stainless steel duct cooler (25,000 CMH, BLDC motor) replaces the plastic body.

Ducting projects

From site visit to after-sales service

1. Site visit

We assess the floor, roof height, heat sources and ventilation. Site visits are free in Mumbai and nearby areas of Maharashtra; for other locations a visit fee is charged based on the location.

2. Duct design

We lay out the ducting and grills and choose cooler sizes for the area and heat load.

3. Manufacture

Coolers and duct components are built at our Murbad factories to the agreed design.

4. Installation

Our team mounts the coolers on brackets or the roof and installs the ducting with minimal disruption.

5. Testing

We commission the system and check airflow and cooling at the work areas.

6. Service

Pads, pumps, motors, VFDs and other spares are supplied for the life of the system.

See completed work on our projects page.

Installation and care

Getting the most from a duct cooler

Fit a controller with phase preventer to protect the motor; the motor warranty depends on it. A VFD lets you run the fan slower in milder weather to save power.

Keep the filter net clean, drain the tank regularly through the drain valve, and leave an exit path for air, such as open windows or exhaust fans, so the cooled air keeps moving through the space.

FAQ

Duct Air Coolers: common questions

What is a duct cooler?

A duct cooler is an industrial evaporative air cooler installed outside a building that delivers cooled air through ducts and grills, so one unit can cool a large floor evenly.

Is a duct cooler better than AC?

For factories, warehouses and other large or semi-open spaces, a duct cooler costs far less to buy and run and brings in fresh air. AC suits small sealed rooms, very humid conditions or spaces that need precise temperature control.

What is the difference between a duct cooler and a desert cooler?

A desert cooler is a standalone cooler that blows air into one room. A duct cooler is a larger industrial unit that sends air through ducts to cover a whole floor of 1,000 to 3,000 sq ft per unit.

Which duct cooler do I need for 1,000 sq ft?

One 18,000 CMH duct cooler covers up to 1,000 sq ft. For larger floors use the calculator above or ask us for a site visit.

Can a duct cooler run on single phase?

Yes. The 18,000, 22,000, 25,000 and 30,000 CMH models are available in single phase 220 V or three phase 415 V. The 50,000 CMH model is three phase only.

Which air discharge options are available?

The 18,000 and 30,000 CMH models discharge from the top, bottom or side. The 22,000, 25,000 and 50,000 CMH models discharge from the top or bottom.

Does E-Cool design and install the ducting?

Yes. We handle the site visit, duct design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and service as one job.

What warranty do duct coolers have?

Industrial duct coolers carry a 3-year warranty on the body and 1 year on the motor. The motor warranty applies when a phase preventer is fitted.
