How do E-cool air coolers work?
Warm air is drawn through wet honeycomb cooling pads. Water flowing through the pads absorbs heat from the air and evaporates, so the air leaving the pads is cooler and more humid. A strong fan blows this cool air into the space, while stale air leaves through an open window or door.
What are the advantages over an air conditioner?
Air coolers cost less to buy and far less to run. An air conditioner needs a refrigerant and an energy-intensive compressor, and it works in a closed room. An evaporative cooler only uses a fan and a small water pump, and it brings in fresh air instead of recirculating the same air.
How many coolers do I need?
As a starting point, each duct cooler covers a set floor area: 1,000 sq ft for the 18,000 CMH model up to 3,000 sq ft for the 50,000 CMH model. Roof height, heat load and ventilation change the answer, so we confirm the number with a free site visit.
How does the float valve (auto-fill) work?
A float valve inside the tank connects to a running water pipe through the hose connector. When the water level drops, the valve opens and lets water in. When the tank is full, it closes. You never have to fill the tank by hand.
When should the honeycomb pads be cleaned?
It depends on local air and water. Hard water leaves mineral deposits on the pads that block airflow. Drain and refill the tank with fresh water at least once a week, and clean the pads every two months or sooner if deposits build up.
How do I clean the honeycomb pads?
Switch the cooler off and unplug it. Turn it so the back panel faces you, remove the screws on the rear grill and lift the grill off. Rinse the honeycomb pads with fresh water, refit the grill and switch the cooler back on.
What warranty do industrial coolers carry?
Industrial duct coolers carry 3 years on the body and 1 year on the motor. The motor warranty applies when a phase preventer is fitted, because it protects the motor from voltage fluctuation.
